No More Casualties

Say ‘No More’

The War On Smoking Is A Failure

New campaign highlights public health activists’ misleading information, efforts to block access to less harmful products.

Oakley, CA – Taking aim at a national stage, Not Blowing Smoke is directly challenging the public health community and legislators to tell the truth about vaping. “Lobbying groups and hundreds of public health organizations have lost sight of the fact that this is about human lives, yet their chief proposals are based on revenue, not science or health,” says Stefan Didak, founder and president. No More Casualties (www.nomorecasualties.org) has a simple message: It’s time to stop making Americans, especially veterans, casualties of the war on smoking.
With over 40 million Americans still smoking, the ad campaign focuses on the human impact of discouraging smokers from quitting and restricting access to vapor products. Sgt. Brian Keith Roberts, a decorated combat veteran lost the use of his left leg following an IED attack in Afghanistan and is featured in the new ads. After the attacks on 9/11, he enlisted in the Army at age 30 and served for 9 years as a combat medic. In 2013, he discovered vapor products and quit smoking almost immediately. “Sgt. Roberts offers a stark contrast to public perceptions about users of vapor products,” adds Didak, “We’re thankful for his service and honored to work with him.”
No More Casualties assets will be available for free distribution through print, radio and television, allowing individual contributors to present the content in the medium of their choice, effectively crowd-sourcing the public information campaign. Interested parties can contact the organization directly to discuss details.
About Not Blowing Smoke:
Not Blowing Smoke is a nonprofit corporation founded in March 2015 by Stefan Didak and Jason Downing, consumer advocates for vapor products. Shortly thereafter, Danielle Bloss created The Truth About Vaping video series and joined the team. Not Blowing Smoke was formed in response to a $15 million dollar California Department of Health initiative using taxpayer dollars to discourage smokers from quitting.
We are dedicated to providing the public and government officials with the truth about vaping. Not Blowing Smoke operates completely independent of industry influence, although we do receive limited funding from strategic partnerships.
